u Mahi | What You Will Do UC's Communications and Events team is responsible for building, enhancing and protecting UC's visibility, reputation and trust. We are now seeking a dynamic Communications Coordinator | Kairuruku Ppho to support our vibrant team in implementing effective communications strategies. You will support Communications and Events with content production and placement, social media posting, internal announcement releases, communications campaigns and events analytics, and provide administrative support to the team.
You will play an integral role in delivering public relations and communications materials such as blog posts and newsletters, to support the goals of the University's Strategic Vision 2020 to 2030. Mu | Who You Are As the successful candidate, you will have: a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing 1-3 years' experience in a communications, social media, marketing and or journalism support role excellent written, proofreading, oral communication and interpersonal skills strong stakeholder management skills and a good team player adept at developing relationships across all levels of an organisation proven organisational and analytical skills, and ability to cope with competing demands the ability to work to tight deadlines and work on several projects at once discretion in dealing with confidential matters proven ability to competently use and optimise social media, electronic newsletter systems (Campaign Monitor, MailChimp, or similar), and content management systems (WordPress, SharePoint, or similar). cultural competence and confidence to lead by example and work in a bicultural and multicultural organisation with knowledge of Te Ao Ngi Thuriri - values, tikanga (processes), kawa (rules) of cultural practice and traditions and valuing Te Reo Mori Mahi Ngtahi | Who You Will Work With Te Whare Wnanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury has an incredible story, and it's our job to tell it.
